I’m saving Tasmania until I can spend a year or two there.
Some of my relatives are on the land, mainly in the Flinders Ranges in South Australia which gives me a strong connection with the area. In fact, having now seen most of the country, it’s still my favourite part. Let me recommend it to you; if you’re in Australia, put it on your bucket list; if you’re overseas, try to get here.
I love being out in the open, yarning around a campfire and enjoying the starry nights, so much of my time is spent inland, in the bush and in arid regions. Regular summer visits to the coast provide the opportunity for the three f’s, (fishing, photography and fun), particularly on Eyre Peninsula in South Australia, a largely unspoiled region with wonderful beaches, spectacular coasts, many bays and Mediterranean weather.
It’s taken a few years to produce my first novel, Redman’s Relic, mainly because I’ve been diverted along the way—having a good time does that to you. However, I have managed to kick-start three more novels, the first of which will be complete late in 2016 or early the following year.
When I decided to write, my aim was to produce a “good read”, a rollicking good yarn from Australia that would provide enjoyment for the reader. Hopefully Redman’s Relic does that.ver menos
