In college, she turned her love for reading into a love for writing. She earned a bachelor’s degree in news-editorial journalism from the University of South Carolina and worked as a newspaper reporter and editor before beginning a career in public relations. Karen has a passion for writing books for children that teaches and inspires them.
A charter member of the Carolina Guardian Society at the University of South Carolina, Karen serves on the Speakers Bureau of Sistercare in Columbia, S.C. She is a member of the Columbia Museum of Art, the Historic Columbia Foundation, Columbia Green, the Carolina Alumni Association, the Dog Writers Association of America, Sisters in Crime, and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Karen is the public relations director at the Arnold School of Public Health at USC.ver menos
