Cosmas served with the History and Museums Division from December 1973 - April 1979, and subsequently on the staff of the U.S. Army’s Center of Military History. Prior to this he taught at the University of Texas and the University of Guam. He graduated from Oberlin College, Ohio, and received his doctorate in history from the University of Wisconsin in 1969. Dr. Cosmas published several articles on military history and An Army for Empire: The United States Army in the Spanish-American War (1971). He is the co-author of Marines in the Dominican Republic, 1916-1924 (1975).
Lieutenant-Colonel Terrence P. Murray served with the History and Museums Division from August 1983 - July 1984. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, and the Armed Forces Staff College. Lt.-Col. Murray served a combat tour in Vietnam as an infantry officer during 1969 and 1970.
