An apostolic covering for several churches in the U.S. and Africa, Walker received a B.A. degree in social work from Eastern University, his MSW degree in Community Organization from Temple University, and a PhD. in biblical counseling from Trinity Seminary. In addition, Dr. Walker received a Post Graduate Certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy from the Marriage Council of Philadelphia and the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine Division of Family Studies.
Dr. Walker served as a Community Organizer for Southwest Philadelphia with the United Methodist Neighborhood Services and was a Community Initiatives Liaison for the Youth Services Coordinating Office under the City of Philadelphia's Managing Director's Office. He was also a Marriage and Family Therapist in private practice for twelve years.
The author of Breaking Strongholds in the African-American Family and Biblical Counseling with African-Americans, Dr. Walker is a contributing author of Biblical Strategies for a Community in Crisis, Called to Lead, and It's Prayer Time. Along with his loving wife Ja'Ola Walker of 40 years, he developed For Christian Lovers Only; a marriage enrichment curriculum targeted to African-American couples.
