He went on to earn a B.S. in chemical engineering, then graduated medical school at the State University Of New York, earning his M.D. He worked in the emergency room, in internal medicine, ENT, and in pediatrics where he met his future wife. They married in 1968 but had to cancel their honeymoon when Benjamin was called to serve in the Vietnam War as a Marine Corps medical officer. His wife worked as a nurse at a nearby army hospital. After the war he opened a private practice and an emergency clinic. In later years he developed a deep interest in history, which, combined with current events happening today, was what inspired him to write this book.ver menos
