I grew up on the border in a bilingual community and studied at the University of Texas at El Paso, where I received my MA. I have been teaching at UTEP for 33 years. I have post-graduate studies at “Cine y Televisión” in Spain. I have taught graduate courses in Spanish language pedagogy and also taught at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C: How to Teach Spanish to Native Speakers. I was the Lower Division Spanish Coordinator for the native and non-native speakers’ Spanish courses, I have been involved in the development of new classes for our Spanish curriculum, where we have incorporated different technological approaches. I am co-author of Español Escrito, one of the best language textbooks for Spanish speakers in United States. I have participated with different publishers such as Pearson, McGraw Hill, VHL and Lingro as a consultant to develop online platforms and develop language content. My experience also includes to be in charge of the Study Abroad program At Spain. In this field I have written the outlines for the book Civilización y cultura de España. I am the producer of two documentaries: “Andalucía; Fusión de tres culturas” and “Andalucía: Camino al flamenco”. My goal in life is to help students to succeed in their professional and personal lives by offering them the highest quality education thru interdisciplinary approaches.ver menos
