Roland retired after 51 years with Metras Electric Inc., an electrical contracting company in Ludlow, MA. He served as its President since 1979 with his good friend and co-owner Robert Anderson. He retired in 2006.
A Christian since 1975, he is currently a 30 year member of Evangelical Covenant Church of Springfield. He has served as the Evangelism Chair, Mission Chair, Deacon Chair at this Church and is a current member of the Deacon Team and Choir, and also has taught in their adult Sunday School. He is currently on Associate Staff with CRU (formerly Campus Crusade for Christ), and has also attended Faith Builders of New England, a Men’s Bible Study group since 1979 and currently serves as its Secretary.
Roland has a strong devotion to the Lord Jesus Christ and a desire to serve Him through Bible teaching, Evangelism and Apologetics. In recent years he was teaching as many as seven different individual and group Bible Studies per week. His motivating verse since coming to faith is 2nd Timothy 2:15, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth”.
“Selective Belief”, his first book which took five years to write, is the culmination of years of Bible study. It expresses his deep desire for accurate interpretation of the truth of the Word of God by every Bible reader.ver menos
