Audra Hemsworth Cava is allergic to her lovable cat, so she relies on her husband and children to do most, but not all, of the kitty snuggling. Audra spent 15 years as a stay-at-home mom before returning to teach high school English among other subjects. Almost every day she enjoys walking, thinking, and praying in her backyard. On a crisp Long Island autumn day, you can find her chasing falling leaves in her yard to see how many she can catch before they hit the ground. Eight is her record. Try it, it’s more challenging than you might think! She teaches kids Sunday school regularly and enjoys speaking at MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) and other women’s groups. She has found kindred spirits at her two Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators critique groups. If you have questions about her books or about arranging speaking engagements, please email her at audracava@gmail.com.
About the Illustrator
Kathleen Forelli has been blessed with an artistic ability. She has always wanted to glorify God with this gift. When approached by Audra, a dear friend from church, to illustrate this book, she was thrilled. Kathy started her career in pastel portraits for which she’s won various awards. She later started an additional business in another passion, photography. During this time, she raised her two beautiful children who now have children of their own. Kathy illustrated a book cover for Street Cop - The Dark Side of Suburbia a retired police officer’s biography, which was followed by illustrating an inspirational children book, Little Bit - The Smallest Tree in the Forest. Today, Kathy paints house portraits using watercolor in addition to painting on reclaimed wood planks. She spends as much time as she can with her five amazing grandchildren, joyfully spoiling them. Her favorite spot in her new home in Virginia is her prayer chair overlooking the scenic pond in her yard. Visit her site: Kathleenstudios.comver menos
