If you had to rate the quality of your life from a scale of 1 to 10, what would it be? Mine was a 2. A 3 when I was happier than usual. Remembering that there had been times when it was a 9.3, I set out to work as I wanted to experience a perfect 10.
When I was 17 and in high school, I thought I’d have already become wise by the time I turned 42. I had thought it was a natural, automatic life process. I knew I was in trouble when my facial wrinkles didn’t bring me the matching wisdom I had so long awaited. I was confused. Why hadn’t anyone tell me? Gaining wisdom has nothing to do with the length of time. It’s whether you have the desire to transform, or not.
I wanted to figure life out, so I could live right. I wanted to live consciously right.
My problem was me. I was too inconsistent, too lazy, too wish-washy, and most of all, too apathetic. One day, I heard my inner voice say, “You don’t trust yourself, do you?” I froze. It frightened me. I frightened me.
How I climbed out of that quicksand to the current state of excitement was a journey that had been too short, too long, straight, and twisted, all at the same time.
I felt an immense sense of relief and liberation. My past disappeared. The good and the bad. And the doorway to the future disappeared. I stopped wanting to be there when I’m here. Here is where everything happens: the present, the past, and the future altogether.
There is an unwavering happiness you get when you trust yourself. And that’s what I want for you. It will give you confidence, joy, peace, and serenity in your daily life.
Your life is about transforming your personal darkness into light and exactly where you stand right now must become your starting point. There is no other way. Your mission in life is to find your passion, and in the process, you will discover your fears and self-doubts, but you’ll use them as your guiding light to become greater.
Come, I invite you to join me in the journey!
With compassion,
Heidi Kim Yang
